Profile Austin Mahoney is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. Austin holds a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, and a Certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. He works part-time in private practice, and has offices in Naas, Newbridge, Edenderry and Allenwood. All settings are in a discreet, peaceful and comfortable venue. Initial consultation and assessment is half price. During this meeting, the client can decide whether they want to commence therapy or not. Counselling and Psychotherapy I offer general counselling and psychotherapy to my clients and have worked successfully with a variety of issues including: mental health difficulties, emotional difficulties, depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement, childhood abuse, eating distress, loss of direction, coping with severe or terminal illness, self-confidence issues, relationship difficulties and paranoia just to name a few. Therapeutic Approach A Humanistic and Integrative approach to the therapeutic process underpins my approach. I draw on a number of different therapeutic schools and approaches according to the issues and needs of each individual client. At the heart of my work is the importance I place on the relationship of mutual respect and trust between the client and therapist. The therapeutic approach is facilitated through dialogue rather than advice and information.
